4 tips to choose the Best Decoration for your home

  1. The style must be identified from your personality

It really is true: our house speaks for ourselves and sometimes were so worried about the impression our house will make among our guests that we neglect that, before anything, it is our home, our most private space.

Because of this, looking for accessories for our home, we end buying things that people do not use. My first advice is to encourage you to find your own style. Do not get confused: you don't have to follow a style because it appears in decor periodicals. To begin with, you have to love and agree to yourself and how will you live. You must consider your home as a place which displays your visual id: a representation of yourself, your personality and the result of your daily habits.

Often I wonder about which would be my interior decor style. I love to see pictures of nominal houses, but I also get worked up about spaces or flats. What it holds true is the fact that, actually, I wouldn't like to live in these houses since it wouldn't be comfortable to live on my everyday life.

What I've done? I'm not getting frustrated any more intending that my house follows a tendency or another and I've accepted that my home is like me. Sometimes, a little crazy: I love to have family or my kids photos at vision and being ornamented by handmade items that I've found to get, in second-hand marketplaces or online. For me, this details are the ones that produce my home cozy. Plants are also a vital necessity in my own home.

To sum up: if your home is in line with your personality, you would be also happier and would enjoy more every little second there.

  2. Look for items that provide you this feeling

Let yourself be led from your instinct. There are things that immediately get you and say something to you, awakening emotions inside of us. Personally, i feel that being taken along for this feeling is not high-risk.

For example: I want to discover these little brands from creative people; I'm sensitive to the delicacy of the imperfection and, because of this, their masterpieces are unique and perfect for me. I prefer them somewhat than commercial products from big brands and stores and I really believe they make my home a alluring home.

Also, if you buy objects which have this emotional connection with you, this sentiment will be moved into the home: positive feelings that would encompass you a big part of the day and would offer you peace of mind, making your home your shelter.

  1. When by using a collection of different shaded and textured casings, choose dark and white images to keep them from looking cluttered. Dark colored & white images can also supply the display a more unified look. I had my pal Kristen from Studio room7 Interior Design help me choose decorative frames & art for a tiny gallery wall in my entry.

This is a wall that would normally go un-noticed. I needed to carefully turn it into a focal point. I stored all my images in black & white except the family image in the center. The goal was to attract the attention there first, then to the black & white images in the exterior frames. Likewise as effective would be to choose vibrant images for sound black frames or solid white framessuch as this wall membrane, also designed by my friend Kristen.

  2. Choose larger size prints and canvases for areas where you can view them over the room. What's the idea in printing small 4x6's and 5x7's if you can't see them unless you walk up to them?

The images on my mantel needed to be big (at least 16x20) to be able to enjoy them from over the room. The big some may be a 22x27 inches size. I actually could have gone bigger for the area available, but I didn't want for the ornamental trim-work of the entire mantel. So, naturally, consider the space you are filling when deciding how big you can go.

I also opt for more timeless, artistic image of my family walking, rather a huge portrait of the faces. This was an individual decision when i was taking a more artistic feel that went with the style and colors of the area. Despite the fact that our faces continue to be unseen, we are incredibly well represented by the structure in the image as well as in the up close of the youngsters in the image next to it.

  3. Way too many portraits all over your home? Try changing some of your images into art work using the Waterlogue app! That is a good way to use your images, but provide them with a new look. My home design friend recommends exhibiting art work or still life/food in your kitchen, somewhat than portraits. A graphic modified through this app might be a good substitute. 4. Choose photos to show that were taken in that particular room of your house. For example, food picture taking in the kitchen, lifestyle images in the living room, bath images of your kids in the tub exhibited in the toilet, and even more personal images in the bed room.

Last week I chose I had a need to fill the area above a doorway in my own kitchen with some food images.

Considerations I created before I had taken the images:

    1. Just how much space I needed to fill and how many images.

    2. Appropriate size to the space.

    3. The style/colors that could go well in my own kitchen.

    4. How those images would look from over the room.

Because I couldn't go bigger than a 10x10, I thought we would use my macro zoom lens and tried to capture close-up textures of the berry vs. a more styled shot with atmosphere that might be harder to see from over the room.

  5. Edit your images to complement the design of the space it will be in. For instance, light and airy, rich in color & compare, dark & white, etc. Also, if you are exhibiting images mutually, edit them side by side in your editing and enhancing program to be sure they combine well and the colour is constant from image to image.

I did so this with my berry images. I shifted them around in Photoshop to help me imagine how they might look hung. I segregated the blueberry image (generally blue) and the grapefruit (blue record) with the yellow pineapple in the centre so each image would stand out and look well balanced next to each other.
